Privacy Notice
Webu helps people build and operate business websites. This notice explains what information we handle, why we use it and the choices available to you.
Information we receive
When you sign in with ChatGPT, we receive your email address and, when available, your display name. We store website drafts, uploaded media, AI prompts and results, usage counts, subscription status and references returned by our payment provider.
Website visitors and customers
Contact enquiries and booking requests submitted on a published Webu site are stored for that website owner. Each business is responsible for using its customer information lawfully and responding to privacy requests about that information.
How we use information
We use information to provide autosave, publishing, AI features, billing, support, fraud prevention and business tools. AI Pro content is processed by OpenAI only when you request an AI action. Card details are handled by Paystack and are not stored by Webu.
Service providers and international processing
Webu may use Cloudflare for hosting and storage, OpenAI for AI Pro, Paystack for payments, and Pexels or Unsplash for licensed media. These providers may process information outside South Africa under their own safeguards and terms.
Retention and security
We keep account and website information while your account or site is active and for a reasonable period needed for support, security, legal and accounting obligations. We use access controls, private server credentials and encrypted transport, but no online service can promise absolute security.
Your POPIA rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information, object to certain processing, or raise a complaint. Some records may need to be retained where law requires it.
